We support the following Transfer Formats:
- Post us CDs or DVDs - Please check the contact page for our mailing address.
- You may provide files on USB storage devices and flash cards.
- Email us - You should not email us files larger than 15mB. You may email us at: art@3e.net.au
- FTP - For files larger than 15mB we request you either post them or upload them to our servers via FTP. You may drop files on our anonymous FTP folder:
- ftp.3e.net.au/incoming
We prefer files created on Apple Macintosh Systems but also have the capabilities to use PC files (Windows).
We support the following programs for MAC
- Adobe Indesign up to CS3 (PDF for Press Ready Settings)
- QuarkXPress 4
- Adobe Illustrator up to CS3
- Adobe Photoshop up to CS3
- Adobe Pagemaker (check version compatibility)
- Adobe Acrobat – Press Ready PDF (Preferred Package) (Press Ready Settings for Adobe CS)
- Macromedia Freehand 8 (saved as EPS)
We support the following programs for PC
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Acrobat – PDF
- Adobe Indesign
We also support these following programs for PC but they will incur a conversion cost
- Corel Draw
- Adobe Pagemaker
The following programs are not recognised pre press programs within the printing industry and will incur extra costs for your file to be reworked and converted to a format suitable for press.
- Word
- Excel
- Publisher
- Powerpoint
When supplying your files please make sure to include all relevant files used to create your job
- Always supply the original files and a hard copy of your artwork.
- Supply all high resolution images (at least 300dpi at 100% of reproduction size) and any graphics used within your job. Files at 72dpi are not print quality!
- If the job is 4 colour process, all pictures must be supplied in CMYK. If the job is spot colour, ensure the correct PMS colours have been specified.
- Please make sure either CVC or CVU has been used, not both for a PMS colour of the same name.
- Supply all Postscript fonts used (screen and printer), including those used within EPS files.
- When supplying Illustrator, Pagemaker or Freehand files: do not embed the hi-res pictures. Supply them separately in a folder marked as images.
- It is preferable to convert typefaces/fonts to outlines in Freehand, Photoshop (version 6 and above), Illustrator or when supplying PC files. This will ensure missing font errors do not occur. Otherwise the original font will need to be supplied.
- Ensure your document includes at least a 3mm bleed allowance if any part of the image touches the edge of the page
Tips for Acrobat Files
- Always create your PDF using the Acrobat Distiller application
- Use “Press” settings when generating PDF’s
- Embed all fonts within the PDF
- Ensure all four colour process work is set up as CMYK (NOT RGB)
When your job is ready to print you will be required to supply us with the following information:
- File names and locations of files Programs and platform (Mac or PC) used
- Final size including final finished size (if folded) Number of colours (PMS or Process)
- A printed sample or PDF sample (if sending by email) of your file
- All fonts, pictures and support files used when creating your job

Please Note: All prices quoted within product menu are for artwork supplied in suitable file format, a $15 surcharge will apply to incorrectly supplied files. Authors Corrections are charged at $88 per hour inc GST plus mechanicals if needed. Please supply postage paid self addressed enevlopes for return of all artwork and materials supplied for publication or print job if delivery address is different.
